Politician says he would like to see people charged for overnight tyre deflations in Churchtown

The cars targeted were SUVs, including electric and hybrid vehicles. “It is very disturbing for the people concerned,” he said. “Stunts like this don’t help any cause. It doesn’t help fight the climate emergency, it just annoys people.”

Leaflets left on the cars in Churchtown said “your gas guzzler kills” and “we did this because driving around urban areas in your massive vehicle has huge consequences for others”.While the leaflets referred to the carbon production of SUVs, they also said that electric and hybrid versions were “still polluting, dangerous, and cause congestion”.
