Following Netflix's release of Sweet Magnolias season 2, star JoAnna Garcia Swisher has revealed what she and her co-stars are actually drinking when filming scenes during their famous margarita nights. Season 2 of the series just dropped on February 4, following the lives of South Carolina natives Maddie Townsend , Dana Sue Sullivan , and Helen Decatur .
Swisher recently appeared on The Art of Kindness podcast to talk about Sweet Magnolias season 2. Of course, she was asked what actually goes into the margaritas while the ladies are filming. Despite Helen's recipe, no alcohol goes into the drinks the stars are enjoying on set. But it's definitely not literally hard for the stars to swallow the faux margaritas.According to Swisher, they are"really good" mixed drinks sans booze.
"No alcohol obviously... They are really good! It's like a smoothie - you know - fruit and ice and really yummy. They like to spice it up and they really make it, so it's fun. It's like, 'What have we got today!?'" So now fans of the Netflix series are aware that no tequila is consumed on the set of Sweet Magnolias, even if the lead stars are pros at acting as they did. Sweet Magnolias is based on the novels of the same name by Sherryl Woods, where the annual summer margarita nights are also a staple activity for the trio. Source: The Art of Kindness
