Senior sharp-shooter Chloe Siegel of Deshler High School in Tuscumbia recently set the national record for 3-pointers in a career, surpassing the 560 mark set by Carrie Johnson of Collinsville, Texas, from 2017-2020. ⛹️♀️

Opposing players, coaches and everyone else in the gym knows it’s coming, usually sooner than later, yet there she goes again.The senior sharp-shooter recently set the national record for 3-pointers in a career, surpassing the 560 mark set by Carrie Johnson of Collinsville, Texas, from 2017-2020.
“She has a way of getting away from people and of course, we as a team try to set her screens,” said Deshler coach Jana Killen. “She can shoot it quick and you wouldn’t dream of how far her range is. Most people would have to baseball-throw it just to get it there.
She’ll get plenty of chances for adding to the total with a game tonight against Priceville and postseason play to follow for Class 4A second-ranked and defending class champion Deshler.Killen coached Siegel and the other six seniors along with junior point guard Raegan Rickard in youth league basketball. The team set a league record with 103 consecutive wins.“She has been working very, very hard since the fourth grade,” Killen said.
