An analysis of food delivery orders has provided crucial information in the investigation of Kyran Durnin's disappearance. The data revealed a change in ordering patterns after June 2022, leading authorities to believe Kyran is no longer alive.
Gardai conducted a detailed analysis of takeaway and food delivery orders made in the summer of 2022, leading to key information in the suspected murder investigation of Kyran Durnin . The digital investigation unit based in Drogheda garda station carried out the data search and found critical information.
A series of regular food orders and deliveries were established during the 2022 summer period, with a source telling the Irish Independent that “among several other factors” it “pointed to Kyran no longer being there”. Gardai found that after a certain date, one meal was excluded from the nearly daily order that was placed at several takeaways in Drogheda and Dundalk, County Louth. A source said: “The takeaway data is an important strand in this investigation, there was a change in the amount of individual meals in each order after a certain time.” Kyran was last seen alive in June 2022, with an investigation continuing into the then-six-year-old’s disappearance. The chief suspect in the investigation left Ireland following her arrest in December. She was released without charge after being questioned. Drogheda man Anthony Maguire, 36, was arrested the day after her release. He had previously dated the chief suspect and was arrested in connection with Kyran’s murder. He was found dead at a house in Drogheda on 17 December after being released without charge. A statement from Gardai at the time read: “Earlier today, Tuesday, 17th December 2024, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted following the discovery of a body of a male aged in his 30s in a domestic residence in Drogheda, County Louth. “The local Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged”
