Tammy Abraham is now the leading English scorer in the Italian top flight

Tammy Abraham has put the argument that there’s no life beyond the Premier League firmly to bed.

Few would have expected the England international to be the success story he has been since his move to Italy, and the 24-year-old has now made history.Abraham came through the youth ranks with Chelsea before going on to score 30 goals in 82 appearances for the club.last summer, the striker found his career at something of a crossroads.

Abraham was handed a career lifeline in the shape of a £34million move to Roma last summer where he’d link up with ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, and it’s safe to say he hasn’t looked back. But it’s his form in Serie A that has really caught the eye. The Three Lions star scored twice as Roma concluded their season with a 3-0 victory over Torino to secure a Europa League spot.

The previous record was set by Gerry Hitchens, who ended the campaign on 16 goals for Inter Milan in 1961/62.“I hope to build on this year and hopefully we can finish with a trophy and it can be the perfect year.”A new all-time record for an English player in a single season in Italy. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
