Natasha O'Brien was beaten unconscious by soldier Cathal Crotty - who was handed a suspended sentence
Tanaiste Micheal Martin has said that he wants to “condemn unequivocally” the “shocking attack” on Clare woman Natasha O'Brien.

He said: "I want to also clarify and point out that there has been some commentary about the presence of Cmdt Togher in court. He was there under Defence Force regulations.
"I can confirm that that process has commenced. Again, I cannot comment on that process for fear of prejudicing the outcome of that process within the Defence Forces which is currently underway. I have spoken to the Chief of Staff and he has informed me of the process that has commenced... the degree to which Defence Force regulations have governed that part of the process."
