Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has arrived in Ukraine for a surprise visit where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and paid a visit to the massacre site at Bucha
TAOISEACH LEO VARADKAR has arrived in Ukraine today where he visited the massacre site at Bucha and also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Over 1,400 peaceful people were killed in the Bucha district, and many more were… pic.twitter.com/CXIkwEBPvTDuring his visit to Bucha, the Taoiseach met with Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin, who confirmed the visit on Twitter. This morning the Taoiseach visited towns and villages around Kyiv to meet with communities and hear first-hand the accounts of the death and destruction wrought by Russian forces.

Ireland’s commitment to Ukraine means that we will support them on their pathway to EU membership.
Speaking as he met with Varadkar, Zelenskyy said that although Ireland was a neutral country, it did not mean they were not helping Ukraine and that he was “very grateful” the Taoiseach began his visit in Kyiv’s conflict-hit suburbs of Moschun, Irpin and Bucha.
