US Vice President welcomes Taoiseach and his partner to breakfast event in Washington
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and his partner Matt Barrett are meeting US Vice President Mike Pence at his residence in Washington.
The meeting took place at the Vice President's residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington and unlike last year, it was open to the media. Mr Varadkar told RTÉ News last night that he will be using the opportunity to explain Ireland's position on Brexit. "We want to maintain and enhance our transatlantic relationship. And we are determined to protect the Good Friday Agreement and peace on the island of Ireland.
