Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is in Washington today for the start of the traditional StPatricksDay programme of events.
His first engagement will be a visit to the US Chamber of Commerce, where he will meet business leaders from both sides of the Atlantic.
There will be announcements of new investments in the US by Irish companies and the Taoiseach will use the opportunity to highlight the two-way economic relationship that exists between Ireland and America. More than 520 Irish companies have operations across all 50 US states, employing more than 100,000 American workers.
Tonight, the Taoiseach will address the Ireland Funds Gala Dinner, where this year's theme is a celebration of visionary women.Brexit, immigration and US-Irish relations will be among the topics discussed by the two leaders.
