Taoiseach Simon Harris reiterated that the Government will serve its 'full term' and that the 'truth is that is not all that far away'
Taoiseach Simon Harris has vowed that Budget 2025 will contain a "significant income tax and USC reduction package" and cuts to employers’ PRSI.Speaking to those in attendance, Mr Harris vowed that workers and businesses would be supported during October 1’s budget.

The Taoiseach said: "I can also tell you that the Budget – which will be presented in less than four weeks’ time – will contain another pro-business package, including changes to the tax system to encourage innovation and investment. "As part of a €1.4 billion tax package, the Budget will also contain a significant income tax and USC reduction package, which will benefit workers and households, and help to keep our tax system competitive. "Simply put, I and my party believe that nobody on the average wage should be paying the higher rate of income tax. As a country we have worked hard to reach full employment, and we want to ensure we make work pay.""When money is plentiful, we have a duty to provide financial support when it is needed," he added. He also addressed the ongoing row over the Dublin Airport passenger cap of 32m, which the daa said will be exceeded this year. He said that while he could not interfere in the planning process, he did not believe it was "realistic to plan for an expanding population and an expanding economy for 2035 based on a decision framework from a different era". Mr Harris also reiterated that the Government will serve its "full term" and that the "truth is that is not all that far away". In a dig at Sinn Féin, he stated that the "main opposition party" and others will "tell everyone what they want to hear over the coming weeks and months". "Whenever an election does come, people will have a very stark choice between pragmatism or populism," he continued."A choice between unity in times of trouble or division in moments of crisis."
