Leo Varadkar’s partner Dr Matthew Barrett has apologised after his “embarrassing” coronation posts were shared.
Attendees were asked to switch off their mobile phones during the ceremony, however, it was later reported that the cardiologist had made several posts on Instagram in a private group about the coronation.Dr Barrett tweeted an apology after The Irish Times shared an article about the incident, with the caption: “Leo Varadkar’s partner’s use of social media at the coronation of Britain’s Charles III has been reported in the British press as being “embarrassing” and “highly insulting”.
The designer was known for working with Diana, the Princess of Wales, during her marriage to then Prince Charles.He said it would be “fair comment” to describe them as “irreverent”, adding: “Matt is a private individual, my partner for over seven years now. And it was some private messages sent to some friends on his private account.”
