John 'Shark' Hanlon hands over his stables to Tara Lee Cogan during a six-month suspension, with hopes that his champion horse Hewick can still defend his title in the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase.
John 'Shark' Hanlon has announced that Tara Lee Cogan will manage his County Carlow stables during his upcoming six-month suspension. The suspension comes after a Referrals Committee determined that his actions during the removal of a dead horse from his stable caused significant prejudice to the integrity, proper conduct, and good reputation of the racing industry.
Hanlon hopes that Cogan, a trained professional and long-time friend, will keep his stable star, Hewick, in top form, possibly allowing him to defend his title in the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase. With the suspension beginning on December 1, plans for Hewick remain uncertain, especially given that the horse was withdrawn from the Betfair Chase at Haydock due to poor track conditions
