SDLP west Belfast councillor Paul Doherty condemned the shooting as 'a disgraceful act of violence that will have caused serious worry in this community'

The incident happened in the Bell Steel Manor area of Dunmurry shortly after 10.30am on Sunday morning, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said.NIAS despatched a rapid response paramedic and an emergency ambulance crew to the incident.

"NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic, 1 Emergency Ambulance Crew, 1 HART Crew and an Ambulance Officer to the incident. Ambulance Control also tasked the HEMS team to attend by response car. “This is an extremely busy area in our community, with many local families and children passing through to visit shops, attend sports training and go about their daily lives.

SDLP West Belfast councillor Paul Doherty said: "This shooting is a disgraceful act of violence that will have caused serious worry in this community. I have engaged with police following this attack and welcome their response to this incident.
