The Roads Policing Unit in Dublin stopped the driver on Friday

A taxi has been seized by gardai after it emerged the driver is currently disqualified from driving by both the courts and through an accrual of penalty points.The DMR Roads Policing Unit at Dublin Castle stopped the taxi on Friday and conducted a check on their mobility device, which showed the brazen driver was not legally allowed to operate the vehicle.

Driver was arrested and now due before the courts again in the coming weeks.”

To be issued a penalty point disqualification in Ireland, a driver must accumulate 12 penalty points within any given three-year period. If they do so they will be automatically disqualified from driving for six months.
