“I’m not going to lie, I’m not going to say it doesn’t bug me”
The Twilight star has opened up about how people’s negative comments about his body and looks have impacted him over the years.
Taylor is best known for playing Jacob in The Twilight Saga, as a teen and early twenty-something he shot to fame, and has been compared to this version of himself since.“I just got back from a run, I was feeling really good about myself. Trying to stay healthy both physically and mentally,” he said.He then shared some negative comments that he had spotted on social media afterwards. One in particular mentioned that he, “did not age well”.
“If this was 10 years ago, five years ago, maybe even two, three years ago, that really would have got under my skin,” he said. He admitted that it got to a stage where he didn’t want to go outside in case he was spotted and then would have to see negative comments on the internet.Taylor shared that he is now in a better place and has learned to value other things in life. he added, but highlighted that it doesn’t make him question who he is, further urging people to think about where they put their values and “just be nice”.
