American singer Taylor Swift took to social media to share a tribute to the victims of the tragic incident at a property in Southport on Monday

Taylor Swift has shared a statement online following the horrifying stabbings in Southport on Monday.

Merseyside Police confirmed on Monday that a 17-year-old male, from the village of Banks, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder following the “major incident” at a property in Hart Street, Southport, Merseyside, at about 11.50am on the day of the attack. Fellow broadcaster and Strictly star Dan Walker described the incident as "truly awful" as he sent his support. "Thinking of all the families of the children involved. We live in strange times," he added in a post on X. Loose Women panellist Judi Love said she was "praying for the families and community of Southport".

North West Ambulance Service said victims were taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Aintree University Hospital and Southport and Formby hospital. Alder Hey declared a major incident on Monday and asked parents not to bring their children to the emergency department unless it was urgent. One tribute to Leanne posted on Facebook from someone who said they attended a training course with Leanne said she was a "beautiful young creative" who was "passionate about helping children".
