The news of Meghan's failed attempt to bring Taylor on the show comes after Spotify and the Sussexes released a joint statement announcing their decision to part ways.
The singer is said to have declined to appear on the podcast, which saw the Duchess of Sussex joined by a variety of guests, including Serena Williams, Paris Hilton, Jameela Jamil and Andy Cohen as they investigated, dissected, and subverted the labels that try to hold women back.
Meghan and Harry's Archewell Audio signed an exclusive $20million deal with Spotify at the end of 2020, as they attempted to be financially independent after breaking away from the Royal Family. The joint statement said: "Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together."
They were said to be facing fresh disappointment earlier this week as their application to trademark the word "Archetypes" has been rejected. Harry and Meghan filed the application to try and obtain exclusive use of "Archetypes" for " downloadable audio recordings and podcasts " and anything related to the "cultural treatment of women and stereotypes facing women."
