Droves of fans turned up in their very best Taylor Swift merch to watch the first ever UK screening of the record-breaking concert film
Glittering sequins, lyric-adorned friendship bracelets and cowboy boots - it's exactly what you'd expect to see at the first ever showing of Taylor Swift's record-breaking concert film, The Eras Tour.
The cinema itself had a huge wall display dedicated to Taylor, featuring colourful balloons, tinsel and a huge The Eras Tour poster. Superfan Jake - who sported a Karma Is My Boyfriend top, a Bejeweled tote bag and eagerly showed me his August-inspired tattoo - told me ahead of the screening: "I wanted to come for the first viewing because in years to come, in my memories, I'll have been one of the first groups of people to have seen it.
A huge smile on her face, a cheeky wink to the audience - Taylor is expressive not only with her music, but with every part of her being. She's incredibly confident - without the slightest touch of arrogance - and it's obvious she, her dancers and her band are truly having fun. It's a joy to watch. From the tear-jerking Tolerate It to sultry Style, the setlist, meanwhile, ebbed and flowed. Self-affirming powerhouse hits contrasted tender ballads to really heighten the energy.As the set pressed on, there was a real sense of oneness and community in the room. When the 'real' crowd brought out their phone lights for Evermore'sMajorie, so did we. When the 'real' crowd clapped along, so did we.
