Taoiseach Simon Harris has called on Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald to “honestly put all the information out there” as he said that Deputy Stanley’s statement contradicted her comments

Brian Stanley has insisted he is the victim of “character assassination” as he welcomed Sinn Féin passing a complaint against him to the Gardaí.

“Our disciplinary committee contacted the complainant on August 1, outlining the procedures to make a formal complaint. She then submitted a full statement on August 2. This marked the official commencement of the disciplinary process. “Following the completion of the preliminary stage of the inquiry and report, and having taken further legal advice the party has referred both the complaint and counter allegation to the Gardaí.
