A teacher at Watkins Elementary School in Washington, DC, was placed on leave after allegedly instructing her students to reenact the Holocaust including the self-inflicted death of Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler
The unnamed teacher at Watkins Elementary School in Washington, DC, assigned her students in the school library to roles from the genocide of European Jews during World War II, apparently so they would grasp the horror. ‘I want to acknowledge the gravity of this poor instructional decision, as students should never be asked to act out or portray any atrocity, especially genocide, war, or murder,’ Berkowitz said in an email to parents.
Asked by students why they were doing the reenactment, the teacher allegedly replied: ‘Because the Jews ruined Christmas.’
