Non-striking teachers and support staff across England and Wales will refuse to provide remote learning during walkouts this week in a bid to show solidarity with their striking colleagues and impose maximum pressure on the Government
Lealands High School in Luton said it had made the “difficult decision” to keep children in years 9 and 11 at home on Wednesday after “some staff told us that they may not be able to attend on the day due to their own childcare needs”.
It said support staff could “continue with their normal duties” but urged them not to provide any remote learning for pupils on teacher walkout days scheduled throughout February and March. In a joint statement last week, the NAHT said it was “working closely” with the NEU, despite failing to secure enough votes to launch industrial action itself.
