Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the burglary
The incident happened when two men, who were allegedly armed with a knife and hammer, stormed a home in Mayfield at around 1.45am.A man in his late-teens was in the house at the time and had to brought to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being hit.
"At approximately 1:45am, two men entered the house armed with what is believed to be a hammer and a knife. "No arrests have been made and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021-4558510, The Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station."
