A male in his late teens had attempted to steal a car but fled after being disturbed by the owner

A teenager has been arrested after allegedly attempting to steal a car from a housing estate in Meath .

Gardaí from Trim and Enfield attended the call and arrested a male nearby. The area was patrolled for other males thought to be involved but were not located. It transpired that this male had allegedly attempted to steal a car in the Beechcroft Estate earlier that night, but was disturbed by the owner and then fled the scene.

A garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí have arrested a man following reports of an attempted car theft in Summerhill, Co. Meath in the early hours of yesterday, Wednesday, 3.
