Tributes have been paid to a teenager who died following a single-vehicle collision in Co Sligo. The driver of the car sustained serious injuries when the vehicle veered off the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tribute s have been paid to a teenager who died following a single-vehicle collision in Co Sligo . Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision, which occurred on the N17 at Ballinacarrow, Sligo, shortly after 8.15pm on Thursday evening. The driver of the car - which Gardaí say was a SUV - sustained serious injuries when the vehicle veered off the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been named locally as Rickie Devine Junior (19) from Larkhill, Keash, Sligo.
Locals said Mr Devine loved cars and farm machinery was very popular in the area. One friend wrote: "R.I.P Rickie, gone far too soon, you were such a lovely lad, was a pleasure to have knowing you. Condolences to all the family at this heartbreaking time". Another Wrote: "RIP Rickie, you were an amazing young man with such respect and a fantastic personality. You will be greatly missed". He is survived by heartbroken parents Rickie and Eilish, his brothers Daniel and Darren, sisters Rachel and Elish
