Erik ten Hag has been left with a dilemma after his new-look midfield suffered teething issues against Wolves
Erik ten Hag has decisions to make on his midfield make-up ahead of the weekend trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
Mount is seen as a capable presser and it's hoped his energy in midfield can compensate for the lack of cover around Casemiro. The Brazilian has many great qualities but perhaps lacks the mobility to play as a single pivot with such attacking number eights ahead of him. There are two potential replacements, should he re-jig things. Scott McTominay could come in to offer more legs and energy. Or he could go with Christian Eriksen, more in the Kroos mould of dictating the ball to prevent the opposition from hurting United.
That would free up Marcus Rashford to move back into his preferred role, with Fernandes on the opposite side and perhaps Anthony Martial or Jadon Sancho central. Right wing is not unfamiliar to the United captain and Ten Hag praised his tactical versatility last year.
