Yorkshire terrier left to die in shallow grave ‘performed CPR' to help save Leyland owner’s life
A little Yorkshire terrier has been hailed a hero after springing to action to save the life of his owner - by 'performing' CPR.
When the couple first adopted Chewie, it wasn't a joyful first interaction, as they found the 12 week old puppy "tied up in a bag with his paws and mouth taped in a shallow grave". However, they've since given Chewie a welcoming new home, and he has been a big help to Ray who suffers with multiple sclerosis."He's always got one eye on Ray and what he is doing - it's as if he's his soul mate," Loretta said.
"I dragged him to the floor and began CPR. All the time Chewie didn’t leave him he was trying to jump on his chest as if to say, ‘come on daddy, you can do this, you can do this!’. " Chewie has now been named as a finalist in the Amplifon Awards for Brave Britons, 2022. Amplifon is a global hearing specialist, which has hosted the awards for seven years - searching for heroes of many categories.
