Tesco shops will be soon be looking differently
Tesco has announced a series of major changes that are set to affect all of its supermarkets across the UK and impact around 2,100 jobs.
It comes after the majority of Tesco stores began axing food counters back in 2019, with the supermarket continuing to review them on an "ongoing basis." A number of head office roles will also be removed as a result of Tesco closing its Maintenance National Operating Centre in Milton Keynes. Jason Tarry, Tesco UK and ROI CEO said: "These are difficult decisions to make, but they are necessary to ensure we remain focused on delivering value for our customers wherever we can, as well as ensuring our store offer reflects what our customers value the most.
