More than 1.2 million people visited Office of Public Works heritage sites from January to the end of May - up 52,000 year on year

New figures released shows it had 203,051 visitors from January to the end of May, which is up 43,000 on the same period last year.

The historic Kilmainham Gaol, where all the brave men of 1916 Rising were executed, was the fourth most most visitor location with 83,838 visitors - down around 20,000 on 2023. The Phoenix Park Visitors Centre, the Farmleigh Estate and Glendalough ended up outside the top ten visitor sites. Meanwhile figures show the Battle of the Boyne site at Oldbridge House had 9,325 visitors from January to the end of May.
