The popular podcast duo’s RTE show sees them host 70 guests each Thursday night, including some well-known pals, for what they describe as 'shenanigans and live music' in a pub.

The 2 Johnnies revealed they have ditched the drink to be fit to keep up with their new Late Night Lock In TV show.

“Our manager said to us before we did it, you are going into camp. You are like a boxer, Tyson Fury, well we will train harder than he is. So we are in camp for six weeks.” The Cahir duo are quick to note the collaborative effort behind the magic, crediting the experienced team behind them guiding them along the way.

“This is studio based, well pub based. It’s really going to stand to us how much they prep every item.” Johnny Smacks, who worked as a butcher before fame, believes their gratitude for their new careers and lifestyles is part of that strong bond.“Like I got up at 6am in the morning and worked in the bacon factory and pulled spinal chords out of pigs for eight hours non-stop with people working beside me with no English, and I’d be there for eight hours going ‘what would I do if I won the lotto’ everyday trying to drag myself through eight hours.
