Scotland's new campus-style, women-only jail in Stirling is designed to help break cycles of offending.

A new £85m women's prison, built as a campus with no overt security on show, will open in Stirling this summer.

The Scottish Prison Service said this will allow staff to have the "time and the focus" to do more rehabilitation work with prisoners. It has been designed to take into account of the fact that most inmates will have experience of trauma and is "significantly different" from a traditional prison. "This establishment will have 100 people in it and our staff will then be able to have the time and the focus to work with people on that individual basis.
