Batman and the Bat-Family just suffered their greatest loss ever, as the DC Universe's battle against vampires turns deadlier than ever.
In one of the darkest moments for the Bat-Family ever, a vampire version of Nightwing just killed off nearly everyone, including Batman, Red Hood, and Damian Wayne. In the shocking sixth issue of DC vs. Vampires by DC Comics, Dick Grayson reveals himself as a vampire in disguise, which results in a bloody battle that sees Batman and almost the entire Bat-Family meet their demise at the hands of the hero-turned-villain.
The DC vs. Vampires limited series from DC Comics has featured several characters who get turned into vampires and try to turn the rest of the heroes into bloodthirsty monsters. For example, Green Lantern successfully turned Wonder Woman, Firestorm, and even Superman into vampires, leaving Batman and the Bat-Family scrambling to prepare for the next attack.
While some of the fates of the Bat-Family are still to be revealed, the vampire attack seemingly leaves Batman and Red Hood dead and Damian Wayne bitten by Nightwing. With three members of the Bat-Family killed in the war against vampires, it's one of the deadliest - if not the deadliest - attacks the group has ever faced. It's made even more tragic since Nightwing is behind it all.
Considering Alfred and Cassandra Cain were the only members in the group Nightwing attacked that survived, the Bat-Family has shrunken considerably. With Batman and the Red Hood killed, the DC Universe lost two of its greatest minds and fighters against the vampire army. It will be an uphill battle to stop the planned eternal darkness. DC vs. Vampires #6 by DC Comics is in stores now.
