But he wasn’t his best against the Broncos. He looked out of sync with his wide receivers. And he was off target on throws he should have made. In the third quarter, Texans linebacker Christian Kirksey intercepted a Russell Wilson pass, giving the Texans good field position. The third-down offense was especially bad. The Texans finished 2 of 13 on third down. Of their third downs, six were third-and-seven or longer. The Texans converted none of those.So, in crucial situations the defense will have to step up.
Wilson found wide receiver Courtland Sutton open for a 35-yard pass up the left sideline. There was a busted coverage on the play between rookie Derek Stingley Jr. and safety Jonathan Owens.
