Just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Ireland’s annual Great Pink Bake Off, kindly sponsored by Dr Oetker, invites bakers of all levels to whip up pink-themed treats to raise funds for Ireland’s leading breast cancer charity.
This fundraising campaign kicked off in September and aims to engage households, community groups and businesses all across Ireland in raising funds for critical education and outreach programmes, highlighting the 8 signs and symptoms of the disease.
Last year’s event captured public imagination and raised a staggering €75,000 in much needed funds, with this year’s initiative set to be even bigger and better, fronted by well-known Ambassadors Louise Lennox, renowned chef and children's fussy eating expert and FM104 and Virgin Media’s Zeinab Elguzouli. Both Ambassadors are passionate about using their respective platforms to help promote awareness and encourage participation in this vital campaign.
Aisling Hurley, CEO of Breast Cancer Ireland, emphasized the importance of community involvement in initiatives such as this, saying, “The Great Pink Bake Off is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together, have fun, and raise vital funds for our complimentary breast health awareness programmes.
