Newlands Park is squirrelled away in the southside and might not be known by most but it's a great place for young families and dog walkers and even offers a great wee cafe that people love to eat in.
People looking to enjoy the end of summer in Glasgow are spoiled for choice when it comes to walks and green spaces.
The modest entrance to Newlands Park is found on Kilmarnock Road, just past Shawlands on the way to Giffnock, and hides an expansive green space with plenty of open spots for dogs to run about in, nature trails and even a wee play park for the kids. The real jewel in the park's crown though is the Dandelion Cafe, where people can refuel with a takeaway coffee or sit in for a tasty lunch.
