Meet the shortlist for The IMAGE Mother Awards 2026, powered by Peugeot. When we launched The Mother Awards, powered by Peugeot, we knew we would hear stories of incredible people.
But we were not prepared for what arrived in our inboxes, and how much of an impact those stories would have on us. There is a lot of conversation at the moment about people becoming disconnected from each other. That community is disappearing. That we are looking at our phones instead of looking after each other.
Stories That Renewed Our Faith
But these applications have renewed our faith in our humanity. For as long as we have existed, we have cared for each other. It's what makes us human. And those instincts have not disappeared.
Over the past few weeks, we have read about mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, sisters, friends, grandparents and chosen family. People who have stepped in, shown up and kept showing up. People who have carried families through illness, grief and enormous change. People who have quietly made somebody else's life possible.
All over the country, big and small acts of love and care are happening in kitchens and hospital rooms, on school runs and WhatsApp groups, in friendships and families and communities. We know that because you told us about them. Today, we are announcing the shortlist for the IMAGE Mother Awards. But before we do, we want to say something to every person who took the time to nominate someone they love.
Celebrating Every Nominating Story
If the name you were hoping to see isn't on this list, please know that we read their story. We saw them. We talked about them. We were moved by them.
There had to be a shortlist, but there is no shortlist for the kind of love these awards are really celebrating. Every person who gets up each day and cares for another human being matters. Every person whose small, repeated acts of love make somebody else's life safer, happier, easier or simply possible deserves to be celebrated. Every single nomination reminded us of that.
The Lasting Power Of Care
At a moment when we all perhaps need it, these awards have given us a renewed faith in people. Thank you for reminding us just how much care there still is in the world.
