PCOS is a chronic condition and cannot be cured, but there are ways to treat it and get help, according to Dr. Susanna Unsworth, in-house women’s health expert for INTIMINA
September is PCOS Awareness month, but Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is often misunderstood and continues to go under-researched.
Dr. Susanna Unsworth, in-house women’s health expert for wellbeing brand INTIMINA, describes PCOS as “a health issue with endocrine, reproductive, cardiometabolic, dermatologic, and psychological features.” and emphasises the importance of holistic, stigma-free care and lifestyle changes as key symptom management strategies.
"Essentially this really means the name polycystic ovary syndrome is quite misleading as it seems to just focus on the reproductive system when it is really a diverse and varied collection of issues affecting many aspects of health.
