The Fendi couture gown that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore on the Croisette made use of the same peekaboo effect. Evocative of the “lightness” that Kim Jones explored for, Rosie’s look featured a built-in sparkly bra and a draped skirt, with a thigh-high slit. Fellow attendee Cindy Bruna, meanwhile, looked to Vivienne Westwood, and wore one of the designer’s trademark silhouettes for a Chopard event. The model picked a floral and polka-dot dress with an asymmetric neckline that revealed a strapless bra underneath. This fresh take on the lingerie trend is on the subtle side – the antithesis of the totally sheer, underwear-exposing looks championed by other stars on the Croisette this year . Finally, a wearable way to embrace the look without baring all.
