Apparently it’s giving up cigarettes. Yes, a recent survey has found that 53 per cent of people would not consider dating the man or woman of their dreams if said dream man/woman occasionally enjoyed a smoke. The research, which was carried out by Letsquit.com, discovered that 78 per cent of people rank cigarette-breath as the biggest turn-off and would downright refuse to smooch their other half if they had just smoked a fag. Clothes that smell like smoke, yellow stains on teeth and ‘smoker’s fingernails’ have also been cited as reasons why people would not get into bed with their dream lover if they were a smoker.So why are we so reluctant to get jiggy with smokers? Well apparently we’re obsessed with the health implications of dating someone who smokes. While half of the people survey admitted that they didn’t enjoy the smell, the non-smokers who were questioned said that they wanted to protect their health and avoid accidentally passive smoking as a result of being in a relationship with someone who enjoys cigarettes.
