Some of the UK's top mixologist teams are now plying their trade in Glasgow's southside with new bars and established favourites upping their game.
When it comes to cocktails, our fair city has often been overshadowed by the capital's award-winning bars.
Jehad Hatu, the brains behind Lunar, which is found in Strathbungo and was named one of the top 50 cocktail bars in the UK within just a year of being open, believes it's the local community that makes the area so special. He added: "I'm a firm believer in turning an area into a go-to destination and that's what the southside has become for cocktails now, and that a rising tide lifts all ships.
Lunar was named on the list in 2023, while the Charlie Brown's Bar team were delighted to join the likes of experiential bar The Absent Ear and irreverent speakeasy-style pub The Gate representing Glasgow on this year's list. The successful entrepreneur thinks that while awards and articles in international publications definitely help, it's word of mouth that's played the biggest part in transforming the Southside into a go-to destination.
