June 05, 2022 - 14:55 BST Nicky Morris The third day of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations came to an epic close with the Party at the Palace concert on Saturday night, which saw the likes of Diana Ross, Queen and Eurovision star Sam Ryder take to the stage to honour the Queen's 70 years of service.
Chatting to Kirsty Young during the BBC's coverage of the Platinum Pageant on Sunday, the 29-year-old presenter revealed that the Palace switched the lights on in the early hours to encourage guests to go home. The special event saw a crowd of 22,000 people, including thousands of key workers, flock to Buckingham Palace for live performances, while over 11 million people tuned in to watch the show at home.
