Recipients of the lump-sum payment can use the grant in whatever way you like. They can use it to pay for respite care, but you don't have to. Future social welfare lump-sum payments A once-off payment of €100 for each child in respect of whom a Child Support Payment is in payment will be issued in respect to 340,000 children in the week commencing Monday November 25.You can still qualify if your child has a job and is earning their own money, and it can also be paid for foster children. But if your child is in receipt of social welfare themselves, you aren’t eligible.
