TheWinchesters star Meg Donnelly teases Jensen Ackles' potential return as Dean for the Supernatural prequel. 'We definitely have lines or scenes that are odes to that, which I don't want to spoil.'

With the prequel now halfway through its debut run, The Winchesters star Meg Donnelly indicates that Jensen Ackles' Dean Winchester may be returning for a reunion with Mary. The CW series follows the adventures of John and Mary Winchester as they face off against supernatural creatures around the world.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Played by Jensen Ackles, Dean died at the end of Supernatural and the show revealed that he would spend the rest of eternity in Heaven alongside his brother Sam, played by Jared Padalecki. While he has appeared as a narrator, he has yet to have any major moments of interaction with his parents in The Winchesters. Yet, in an interview with CBR, Meg Donnelly, who plays Mary Winchester, indicates that there is a chance that Dean could play a larger role in the show.

"It would even be cool for Mary to meet Dean again. Just for my own sake -- that would be so much fun to work with Jensen Ackles again. I'm not sure. We definitely have lines or scenes that are odes to that, which I don't want to spoil."What Jensen Ackles Has Been Doing Since Supernatural Ended Since the ending of Supernatural, Ackles has been incredibly busy. Having had a starring role in The Boys season 3, Ackles took the world by storm with his performance.

Besides Soldier Boy, Ackles appeared in Batman: The Long Halloween as the voice actor for Batman. While Ackles was surprised to be cast as the Dark Knight for the animated film, given that he had already played Red Hood, many praised his work in the title, namely for his ability to take on both sides of Bruce Wayne and Batman's personalities.

With several major projects taking up his time, it would make sense if Ackles would prefer not to take on a bigger role in The Winchesters. Still, the fact that he agreed to appear as the narrator in the first place is a great indication that he could be open to a larger position. Ackles may be growing as an actor both in terms of prominence and skill, but he clearly hasn't outgrown his ties to Supernatural.
