TheWitcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich says that season 3 may get a two-part release model. 'I do think that, obviously, we don't put anything out that we're not incredibly proud of. So that dictates our entire launch date.'

As the streamer continues to do so for other titles, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich says that The Witcher season 3 may get a two-part release model. The next chapter of the Netflix series will be the swan song for Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia as the actor departs and Liam Hemsworth is set to take up the mantle of Geralt for The Witcher season 4.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While speaking with Collider to discuss the recently released prequel series, Lauren S. Hissrich offered an update on The Witcher season 3. When asked if Netflix will give it a two-part release model in the same vein as its other shows, the showrunner stated that no proper discussions have taken place for such, but that they are not ruling out the possibility as post-production continues on the season.

We haven't discussed that [splitting the season] yet, but at this point I think what we see happening across all sort of streamers, I wouldn't rule it out. I do think that, obviously, we don't put anything out that we're not incredibly proud of. So that dictates our entire launch date. And I think it'll be interesting. Again, we have a way still a very long time, eight-ish months or so until Witcher Season 3 comes out. So God willing, we get it all out at the same time.

Even before Stranger Things season 4, Netflix has a history of dividing multiple shows into multiple batches of episodes, including Lucifer season 5, which closed out the show they saved from cancelation, Manifest season 4, another final season rescued from primetime TV, as well as next year's You season 4.

Is Splitting The Witcher Season 3 Up A Good Plan? Though it has generally proven a successful model for the streamer, the question on many audiences' minds is sure to be whether splitting The Witcher season 3 up into two parts is a good idea.
