Here Are All the Major Filming Locations Paramount Uses to Shoot Yellowstone
may take its name from the 3,472 square mile national park that spans parts of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, but the namesake in the show is the Dutton family ranch—In the series, the Dutton ranch borders the national park and is a hotly contested piece of real estate. Several times during the series we see tourists bumbling around John Dutton’s lands, cutting through fences, taking pictures of bears.
In reality, the Dutton ranch—or rather, the literal location where it’s filmed—lies north of the national park and in western Montana. And it’s not so close to Bozeman, where Beth seems to have her office—that’s a 4-hour drive to work for Beth. As for Kayce and Monica’s home in the reservation, that’s a 7-hour drive to the real location of the Dutton ranch. , including Park City, Spanish Fork City, and Ogden where rodeo and bar scenes are filmed.
While everything isn’t as close together as the series depicts, the show's locations do exist just outside Yellowstone National Park. Those views are all real.
