It comes after the wettest July on record for Greater Manchester

Here in Manchester, it's safe to say a bit of rain never put anyone off. But the unseasonably wet summer we've had is starting to put a real dampener on our plans.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Met Office meteorologist Stephen Dixon said whilst the forecast for the end of the month is fairly unpredictable, there could be a chance of warmer weather. Thankfully, the weather has began to pick up this week, with Greater Manchester basking in glorious sun and much warmer climates. Mr Dixon said the main driver of this wet weather was due to jet streams which brought with them low pressure systems - which typically generate more autumnal or winter weather.
