The cast of Prime Video’s $1 billion Tolkien gamble explain what to expect of their fantasy epic—and how their show differs from the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel.

“The women that Tolkien wrote about, he treated them with a huge amount of respect,” said Clark. “I’m really proud to play a character that shows all the different traits of a woman. I’m excited for little boys and girls watching it. There’s a huge exploration of different aspects of masculinity and femininity in the show. I went through life traversing.

“For a larger lady like myself, wearing a costume that is unapologetic, and quite frankly, pretty sexy—it’s about time,” she said. “We’re okay to show a little bit of skin, and it feels so exciting knowing this incredible franchise is now accessible to all the different variations of me and to so many different cultures around the world. Our show includes an international cast with different races, backgrounds, and people of all shapes and sizes. This is the time and a new beginning.
