Researchers argue that all sexuality exists on a spectrum.

That’s according a new study anyway, that claims to show that people generally aren’t strictly attracted to just one gender, even though they might identify as straight.argues that sexuality exists on a spectrum for all people, including those who say they are only attracted to the opposite sex.Instead of simply asking the participants what they felt, researchers measured pupil dilation as an indicator of arousal.

When women were shown footage of a man and woman having sex, their pupils dilated. And when women were shown a video of two women having sex, their pupils dilated again. When straight men were shown a woman masturbating, their pupils dilated – and when straight men were shown a man masturbating, their pupils dilated again. While pupil dilation does mean that a person is aroused, it doesn’t necessarily mean that a person is strictly sexually attracted to whatever they’re looking at.

In other words, you can be physically aroused, but not actually want to act on what you’re feeling, so it’s very possible that a lot of people who identified as straight were simply becoming aroused by the visuals of sexual activities in general. If you want to call yourself a straight woman and only date men, that’s cool. And similarly, if you want to call yourself a bisexual woman who only dates men but is definitely attracted to people other than men, that’s cool too.

So are all the other variations of the above, so as long as you’re happy out and comfortable with your sexuality, you don’t need to stick a definition on it.By Jody CoffeyWoman marries husband in €31,400 wedding before he suddenly ghosted herWild Lights returns to Dublin Zoo with magical new theme‘I lost €1.1k in Taylor Swift ticket scam thanks to my ex – I think he should reimburse me’
