The biker collided with a Mercedes car in Bispham Road, Southport. The collision tragically cost him his life.
The junction where a motorcyclist died after crashing with a Mercedes was an accident waiting to happen, according to neighbours.
She said: "I had a petition here with 300 signatures but nothing happened. We should have traffic lights here. They have them over on Sussex Road, why not here? It might cost a lot of money but it's worth it for safety." Another resident, Joan Morris, said speed is an issue despite the 20mph restriction and traffic calming measures which include a raised surface at that junction. She said: "You do get some through doing 40mph and there's nothing you can do. There's no deterrent."
An appeal has been launched after this morning's crash, with Merseyside Police asking for witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation. Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the man who has sadly lost his life following a collision earlier this morning.
