A lot of things happened in 2016, some good and some bad. We had an Olympics, the Euros, the commemoration of the 1916 Rising, a number of celebrity deaths and some unfortunate decisions in The UK and America.Facebook has compiled a list of the top 10 moments.
The top 10 moments were measured by how frequently a topic was mentioned in Facebook posts made between January 1st and November 27th, 2016. To put this list together, mentions were analyzed in an aggregated, anonymized way, and then ranked.“Every day people turn to Facebook to connect with their friends and family on the issues and events that matter most to them.
“It was a big year for politics and it is no surprise that the top three most talked-about topics were the Irish and US elections and Brexit. During the summer, we had the Euros and Olympics – at which Ireland was well represented by both our athletes and supporters – with many stand-out moments captured on Facebook.
“The Easter Rising appears on the list demonstrating how people across Ireland took to Facebook to share their thoughts, videos, photos and experiences of the centenary celebrations.”MusicPeople who put their Christmas decorations up early are happier, science saysDog yoga has landed in Dublin- but what exactly is it?Woman shocked after friend asked dinner guests to pay for their food
