Nottinghamshire Police said he caused shops losses of more than £1,000

A shoplifter has been sentenced to 10 months in prison after stealing from multiple stores in an area of Nottinghamshire. Lee Hampton, of no fixed address, was arrested for 10 shop thefts across Worksop, Retford and Carlton in Lindrick, Nottinghamshire Police said.

The force said he was responsible for more than £1,000 worth of loss of goods to shops over the course of his shoplifting spree. A representative of the Worksop South neighbourhood policing team said they were happy Hampton had been jailed. "Hampton is a prolific shoplifter who has targeted multiple different stores across Worksop, Retford and Carlton in Lindrick and is responsible for over £1,000 worth of loss of goods to the stores over the course of this shoplifting spree," they said.

"We are happy that the court has sentenced Hampton to the period of imprisonment and hope he gets the support he needs to prevent this behaviour once this time is served."
